Kenworth offering latest Bendix Fusion system

Bendix has announced its newest Fusion active safety platform is now available on Kenworth trucks.

The latest Bendix Fusion offers enhanced capabilities, according to the company.

“We’ve been working with the Kenworth team for decades to provide North America’s fleets and drivers with safer trucks, and it never stops being a point of pride to see Bendix technologies on their top vehicles,” said Nicole Oreskovic, Bendix vice-president, sales and marketing. “From the earliest days of our full-stability systems in 2005 to the latest continuing steps in highly automated driving, Kenworth has always been a fantastic and valuable partner on our journey toward safer roads for everyone.”

Bendix Fusion has been an available spec’ on Kenworth trucks since 2016 and standard on certain models since 2018.

New features include a new radar, enabling ACB Stop and Auto-Go and service brake hold. The new radar also allowed Bendix to update the system’s key functionalities.

Drivers will notice a new dashboard-integrated messaging system.

Other, existing features, include multi-lane auto emergency braking, highway departure warning and braking, active cruise with braking, following distance alerts, lane departure warning and speeding alerts.
