This week, Bestpass-Fleetworthy appointed Jason Moos as its new chief financial officer, and Jeff Clementz was named DAT Freight & Analytics’ chief executive officer, while the company’s chief financial officer, Tony Salazar, took on expanded responsibilities as chief operating officer.

Meanwhile, the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) held its annual general meeting at Niagara Falls, Ont., during which it announced Young Leaders Group’s (YLG) incoming board of directors for the 2024-2026 term and awarded Sravani Nellutla and Eric Robinson with the Young Leaders education bursary.

Bestpass-Fleetworthy welcomes Moos as CFO

Bestpass-Fleetworthy Solutions appointed Jason Moos as its new chief financial officer (CFO). He succeeded John Lang, who retired after serving as CFO in 2017.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jason as our new CFO as we enter an exciting new growth phase that follows last year’s acquisition of Fleetworthy Solutions,” said Tom Fogarty, Bestpass-Fleetworthy’s chief executive officer, in a news release. “Jason’s extensive experience and leadership in financial management will be invaluable to our team as we continue to grow the combined business.”  

Moos brings more than 20 years of finance, accounting, and M&A experience to his new role.

DAT executives: Clementz appointed CEO; CFO Salazar’s role expanded to COO

DAT Freight & Analytics welcomed Jeff Clementz as its chief executive officer (CEO). He joined the company last year as its chief product officer, a role he will continue to oversee until a new person is hired.

Clementz brings 25 years of experience managing networks, marketplaces, payments, and e-commerce platforms to the job, according to the company.

He previously was president and CEO at Shift and senior vice-president and general manager of Walmart’s Marketplace, where he was responsible for building the retail giant’s foundational commerce platforms.

Clementz has also held various product and operating leadership positions at PayPal, eBay, and Intel, both in the U.S. and Australia.

Meanwhile, DAT also announced that its chief financial officer, Tony Salazar, has taken on expanded responsibilities as chief operating officer (COO).

Salazar joined DAT in 2018 after serving as Intel’s general manager and senior director of finance and business operations.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the technology sector, including responsibility for strategic planning, revenue and pricing optimization, operations management, and financial planning and analysis.

In his new role, Salazar will integrate DAT’s strategic growth investments and operating goals to improve its operating model.

PMTC announces YLG’s incoming board

The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) Young Leaders Group announced its incoming board of directors for the 2024-2026 term. The new term will run from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2026.

The PMTC Young Leaders Group (YLG) is a collective of the next generation of PMTC professionals. The group’s goals are to promote professional and personal growth through different networking and development opportunities focused on the transportation industry’s needs, PMTC said in a news release.

Sud Malhotra from Intact Public Entities was named the board’s chairman, while Stephanie Carruth at Minds for Matter and Staebler Insurance’s Luke Uphold were named first and second vice-chairwoman and chairman, respectively.

The full list of directors includes:

PMTC & Tenstreet announce recipients of 2024 Young Leaders education bursary

Sravani Nellutla from Mohawk College and Eric Robinson from Wellington Group of Companies received the 2024 Young Leaders Group Education Bursary awards during the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada’s (PMTC) annual general meeting and conference in Niagara Falls, Ont.

One bursary was available to PMTC member companies, while the other bursary was available to one of the students in Mohawk College’s Supply Chain Management Program.

Both recipients will use the bursaries to develop their skills and knowledge further to build a career in transportation and contribute to the industry.

Mohawk’s Nellutla is an international student from India who holds a bachelor of retail management and information technology from St. Francis College. Nellutla has more than seven years of experience working in the supply chain in India.

Meanwhile, Robinson joined Wellington in early 2022. However, his career in the industry began in 2014, when Robinson volunteered for a logistics company in Mississauga, Ont.

Since then, he has worked as a dispatcher, logistics account manager, and operation manager. He is currently a senior account manager in Wellington.
