“For an entry-level driver entering our industry to have the best chance possible to be successful, it is imperative that they receive the best in class training that is available,” said PMTC president Mike Millian in a news release, adding that the scholarship provides training that is MELT-approved and certified by the Truck Training Schools Association of Ontario.

Bulne began working for Tandet in 2021 as a D/Z operator and became a mentor to his peers.

Having been cross-trained on different product types and delivery trucks, Bune gained knowledge regarding offload procedures, product identification, and customer site details.

He says he will use the scholarship to expand his flexibility and become even more valuable to the fleet while continuing with his own career growth.

After Bune successfully completes his training at KRTS and obtains his A/Z licence, Tandet will place him with a mentor for a minimum of one year to build his skillset.
