Toyo Tires Canada has brought to market new Toyo M655 size tires for commercial light truck applications.

The on-/off-road tires provide improved traction under heavy load on rough roads for mining, energy, agriculture, construction and forestry use, the company says. Each tire carriers the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake designation denoting all-weather traction.

“The M655 is built for longevity with resistance to cuts and chips, sidewall impacts, and irregular wear,” the company said in a news release.

“It features specialized cap and base compounds, plus a thick and sturdy sidewall providing a well-rounded combination of durability and performance. The specialized compounds deliver reliable protection against cuts and chips on unimproved roads, as well as heat-resistance that withstands stresses under load enhancing the tire’s longevity and resilience.”

The sidewall also comes with an extra buttress that protects against cuts and abrasions. Saddle notches and stone ejectors shield the casing while fortifying tread blocks for further longevity.

The tires will initially be launched for 17- and 18-inch wheel diameters, but future models to roll out next year will be available in 19.5-, 22.5-, and 24.5-inch diameters.
